  • Pre-cooked white cornmeal
  • Water
  • Salt
  • Cheese
  • Oil


  1. Pour 1 cup of cornmeal
  2. Pour 1/2 tsp of salt
  3. Put in a handful of cheese
  4. Mix the dry ingredients
  5. Pour 1 cup of water
  6. Stir the mix together
  7. Knead the dough
  8. Roll a handful of dough in your palms
  9. Flatten the dough
  10. Pour oil on the pan
  11. heat the pan over medium heat
  12. Place the dough on the pan
  13. Cook for 4 minutes
  14. Flip the arepas
  15. Cook for another 2 minutes
  16. Plate the arepas and enjoy!
